Patient Self-Scheduling for Lab Appointments (Labcorp & BioReference)

Last updated: February 18, 2026

This article explains how patients can schedule their own lab appointments through the Junction white-labeled Patient Experience page for Labcorp and BioReference orders.

Overview

Junction enables patients to:

• Track their lab order status

• View expected turnaround times

• Download their lab requisition

• Schedule their own lab appointment

For Labcorp and BioReference, scheduling currently redirects patients to the lab’s external website.

For Quest, scheduling is embedded directly within the Junction experience

White-Labeled Experience

The Patient Experience page is fully customizable to reflect your brand:

  • Logo

  • Company name

  • Primary brand color

  • Support email

Scheduling Experience by Lab

Labcorp & BioReference

When the patient selects “Book Appointment”:

  1. A new browser tab opens.

  2. The patient is redirected to the official Labcorp or BioReference website.

The patient:

  • Searches for a nearby location

  • Selects a date and time

  • Completes booking directly with the lab

At this time:

  • Appointment details are not captured inside Junction.

  • Patients complete scheduling externally.

  • Order tracking continues once results are received.

Embedded scheduling for Labcorp and BioReference is coming soon.

Quest (Embedded Scheduling)

For Quest orders, Junction integrates directly with the Quest Scheduling API.

Patients can:

• Search for nearby locations

• View real-time appointment availability

• Select date and time

• Confirm appointment

All within the Junction page — no redirect required.

Junction captures and tracks:

• Appointment status

• Confirmation

• Lifecycle updates

• Order progress

This provides:

• Better adherence tracking

• Improved operational visibility

• Reduced patient drop-off

Operational Considerations

For Labcorp & BioReference (current state):

  • Scheduling is patient-driven and external.

  • Your team will not see appointment booking data.

  • Patients are responsible for completing booking.

For Quest:

  • Scheduling data is visible within Junction.

  • Teams can track appointment lifecycle.

  • Supports adherence workflows and reminders.

Future Enhancements

Embedded scheduling for Labcorp and BioReference is coming soon. Once available, this will:
